There are some regional differences in which Lenormand card is generally used to represent work. I understand that in Germany the Anchor is the work card, since the ship drops anchor and the crew begins unloading the ship. In France, it is the Fox. The Fox does what he has to do! In Belgium the Moon is generally used, though I never got a satisfactory explanation why. Or if you already know what a person does, then you might use something else. The Book might represent a librarian's workplace.

So I've made a poll that's never going to close - tell us what you use, and post your reasons!

The Moon rules fame, amongst other things - and since most people find their fame through work, that's the logical extension. I use the Anchor myself, but I do get it.

This is how it came to be: In astrology, the Moon rules the public, and its ever-changing moods. Since the favour of the public is what makes you famous, it falls under the Lenormand Moon card, and by extension, in some countries - that's also your work card.

The Moon rules other things, too, that's just an interesting connection.

Okay, I get it! Thanks for this! Though it does seem more a card for somebody who has a career that they actually care about. I hope I never become famous for punching a cash register or stocking shelves. Ew. Laughing

I guess the Anchor is closer, with all those boxes on ship. Though sometimes I feel like the Fox, making a foray into enemy territory...! pirat "Mind the traps! Is that poison?" Laughing
