| 1-First a thing that must be see. LE PAPE of Jean Noblet hold a crosier not a three barred cross one as Popes used. Popes never used it after eleventh century but then only bishop done,so since Noblet was done at 1650,ours "Pape" isn it. He is a Bishop... 2-See his face.He don t mind about the two acolytes in front of him.He really don t mind ! -He is watching to the right,he is blessing a figure unknown on the right (BTW is his left = past side ) / But ours present-future side. 3-One acolyte has a hat but not the other. -May be a topic of range. / But aside that ours Pope or Bishop don t pay attention to the range... -He is watching far from the scene. Lesson: Real Masters never think in terms of range. They simply see the "level" of "light" of ours Souls and how we can give light to others. They don t mind about ego competition or self promotion... -The only thing they always pay attention is ours intention to HELP to GIVE A HAND,to send to another few words of friendly hope, somewhat as " I am HERE for you ".

| Again, I'm struck by how similar our thoughts are about the trumps in some ways, though I'm sure we don't agree with all of them.
To me, what Le Pape says is that you have to be there. To show up, day after day after day.
A sensei once described it semi-humourously as the 'door kata'. If you could do that, if you could actually get there, keep coming, not give up, no matter- you'd won the better part of the battle.

| Hi Eugim -
Gladly. The most important spiritual practise is to simply be there every day. Le Pape is the master of that.
Katas are various movements or positions that you learn in martial arts. The 'door kata' means that you walk through the door - go to your teacher - or your students - every day.

| Hi Chanah and many thanks for your answer.
-Many years ago I read a book of Eugen Herrigel " Zen in the Art of Archery " where the Master was trying to teach to his disciple that he never will hit the bull just because that was his intention. Only when he understand that he,the arch the arrow and the target are ONE he will hit the bull s eye. -There is a subtle induction to think that all in this Universe is interlinked. -So the sense or feel very intense of the now and here.No past no future so an eternal present. I think is on the line with your thoughts...
Till the next.

| The Pope is a middleman, too. I kind of see the acolytes saying, "Your Holiness, can you talk to God for us?" | |

| Fives are a kind of bridge, so the acolytes want to move closer to God, they're going to the Pope for that. And as you mention, he's not even paying attention. If you were to lay the Trumps in order, he's looking at L'Amoureux. I love TdM. | |
